Combilink OÜ manufactures finger-jointed pinewood components for the moulding, window, door
and furniture industries.
They produce roughly 30,000 m 3 of finger-jointed and glued components annually.
They primarily use sawn pinewood, which is purchased from the largest sawmills in Estonia, Latvia, Russia and Scandinavia.
A new production plant with new equipment and production lines was completed in the summer of 2020. As part of this project, the client sought to utilise the destacker from the previous system. As the metal structures and moving parts of the destacker were in an excellent condition, our objective was retrofitting, i.e., upgrading the existing structure by adding an automation system to it.
Time was of the essence with this project.
As a result of various restrictions, the work schedule was all over the place. Therefore, we only had one month to analyse the old device, make all the necessary preparations, acquire the supplies, build the control panel, and carry out the programming work, as well as all the relevant works on site, including the launch.
